Netherlands made it through to the quarter-finals with a 3-1 win over USA. They have only lost at this stage of a World Cup once, in 1994, when they lost 3-2 to eventual winners, Brazil. Though they didn't qualify in 2018, the two World Cups prior in 2014 and 2010, they finished in third and second place respectively, so will be hoping they can go all the way this time around. Argentina survived a late scare from Australia to eventually win 2-1 on Saturday night to book their place in the quarter-finals. Since they last won the World Cup in 1986, they have finished runners up twice, but have also gone out at the quarter-finals stage on three occasions since then as well. These sides have met five times prior at the World Cup, including as recently as 2014, when Argentina won on penalties in the semi-finals. That game ended 0-0 in normal time and it is likely we will see another close game this time around and it may take penalties again to settle this one. 1:1
